Lucy is a 19-year-old woman from Kenya.
For years, Lucy has walked with an unusual gait and experienced pain in both of her feet. Seeking an evaluation, she visited a local hospital in 2005, where she was diagnosed with having bilateral clubfoot. Although surgery was recommended, she did not have the funds to pay for her treatment. Over time, her condition has worsened and become more painful.
Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare Foundation, is requesting $1,224 to fund Lucy’s corrective surgery, which is scheduled to take place on June 11. The surgery will improve Lucy’s mobility, allowing her to walk without pain.
“I am appealing to you people of good will to help me go for surgery, I will be grateful if you help me, I want to walk without any challenge and I believe I have a bright future despite all the challenges I have encountered throughout the life,” Lucy says.
