Yoeun is a 67-year-old grandmother from Cambodia. She has two sons, three grandchildren, and enjoys listening to the monks pray on the radio.
Three months ago, Yoeun developed a cataract in her right eye, causing her blurry vision, pain, and tearing. She has difficulty seeing things clearly, recognizing faces, and going anywhere outside.
When Yoeun learned about our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre, she traveled for three and a half hours seeking treatment. On October 03, doctors will perform a phacoemulsification cataract surgery and an intraocular lens implant in her right eye. After recovery, she will be able to see clearly. Now, she needs help to fund this $211 procedure.
Yoeun said, “I hope I will be able to go outside and be able to see better than before, and I can recognize people’s faces and visit the pagoda.”
