Talia is a 17-month-old baby girl from Kenya and only child born to her parents. Her father works as a potato farmer, while her mother sells groceries to supplement the family’s income.
Since she was seven months old, Talia has had difficulty breathing and sleeping. She has been receiving treatment locally, but her condition has not improved. Recently, a family member recommended that the family visit our medical partner’s care center for further evaluation.
Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare (AMH), is helping Talia receive treatment. She was examined at AMH’s care center and diagnosed with acute tonsillitis and adenoid hypertrophy. Surgery is recommended to treat her condition. On November 10th, surgeons will perform an adenotonsillectomy, or a procedure to remove both the adenoids and tonsils. After recovery, Talia will live more comfortably. Now, her family needs help raising $714 to fund her procedure and care.
Talia’s mother shared, “we have tried different ways, but her condition never improves. We are happy and hopeful that she can be well again.”
