Sean is a 69-year-old noodle seller who lives with her husband and her nephew. She is hoping to retire soon, and to pass her business on to her nephew. Her nephew helps her with her work and the household chores. When she is not working, Sean listens to the radio and prays.
Three years ago, Sean developed a cataract in her right eye, causing her blurry vision, sensitivity to light, and irritation. She has difficulty seeing things clearly, recognizing faces, and going anywhere outside.
When Sean learned about our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre, she traveled with her nephew seeking treatment. On May 24th, doctors will perform a small incision cataract surgery and an intraocular lens implant in her right eye. After recovery, she will be able to see clearly. Now, she needs help to fund this $229 procedure.
Sean shared, “it has been difficult for me to work for a while. I hope after this surgery I can see well and work hard again so that I can retire.”
