Nimom is a 42-year-old bean farmer from Cambodia. He has two children and loves listening to classical music. Seven years ago, Nimom was in an accident and broke his upper arm. He was treated right away but suffered a nerve injury. Nowadays, Nimom is finding it difficult to work and has limited function in his arm. A tendon transfer can improve his function and allow him to work and do day-to-day activities more easily.
On September 6, Nimom will undergo nerve and tendon procedures as part of his treatment. Our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre, requests $497 to help fund the treatment.

Nimom underwent a tendon transfer.
Nimom’s surgery went smoothly, and he has been working with the physiotherapists as he continues to show progress towards recovery and improving feeling and function in his hand and arm. Surgery has helped restore Nimom’s ability to do the things he loves and return to work on the farm.
He says, “I feel better knowing I can go back to work.”
