Nadia is a 4-year-old from Uganda who is in the middle junior class at school. She is the older sister in her family of two. Her mother is a nursery school teacher, and her father is a barber in one of the local hair salons near their home.
For three weeks, Nadia has had an umbilical hernia. She is experiencing severe abdominal pain that keeps her from being able to attend school or play with her friends. In addition, the pain is disrupting her ability to sleep. Her family brought her to our medical partner’s hospital, where the doctors advised that she undergo surgery. On February 9th, Nadia will undergo hernia repair surgery that will allow her to live more comfortably and confidently upon her recovery. Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare (AMH), is requesting $170 to fund Nadia’s surgery.
Nadia’s mother said: “I pray that my daughter may have a successful surgery so that she may be able to return to school and take on her studies comfortably.”
