Charoeurn has one brother and two sisters, and enjoys playing games, reading books, and helping around the house in his free time.
In December 2017, Charoeurn was in a severe motorcycle accident and injured his left leg and skull. He went on to receive treatment in Vietnam for both of his injuries; however, Charoeurn still suffers from his head trauma. He was diagnosed with a skull defect and experiences memory loss and frequent headaches. Due to his accident, Charoeurn had to drop out of school after grade ten.
Surgery will help relieve his symptoms and protect his skull from further injury. Charoeurn hopes that after his surgery, he can return to school to study business.

Charoeurn underwent craniofacial surgery.
Charoeurn’s operation went well. Surgery has improved his quality of life by closing the defected area of his skull and preventing any future complications. Surgery is also important to ensure Charoeurn does not further the worsening of the condition. He feels happy that he can return to his friends and family in the village.
Charoeurn said, “I am happy that I no longer have any headaches after surgery and that I am looking better than before.”
