Sarout is a young student from Cambodia. He has four brothers and two sisters. He likes to play football and listen to music.
Ten years ago, Sarout had an ear infection. This infection caused the tympanic membrane, or the ear drum, in his left ear to perforate. For this reason, Sarout experiences tinnitus, hearing loss, ear discharge, and pain. He cannot communicate with others clearly.
Sarout traveled to our medical partner’s care center to receive treatment. On December 10, he will undergo a myringoplasty procedure in his left ear. During this procedure, surgeons will close the perforation. Our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre, is requesting $423 to fund this procedure. This covers medications, supplies, and inpatient care.
His mother says, “I hope my son’s surgery goes well and he feels better.”
