Meet Margret. Margret started feeling abdominal pains and discomfort about a year ago. She was referred to our medical partner’s care center, and her doctor diagnosed her with multiple uterine fibroids and recommended a hysterectomy to relieve her from pain and discomfort.
Margret is a subsistence farmer who grows groundnuts, beans, potatoes, vegetables, and bananas for food. She enjoys spending time with her grandchildren after school and on holidays, and she teaches them how to weave baskets and mats. She also enjoys praying, visiting friends, and telling stories to her grandchildren.
Margret will undergo a hysterectomy on August 23. She needs help raising $321 to pay for treatment. She hopes to resume farming and weaving baskets and mats after treatment.
