Bopha is a 44-year-old farmer who is married and has one daughter, four sons, and one grandson. Bopha lives with her husband, who works as a construction worker. When she is at home, she likes to listen to the news on the radio and watch movies on TV.
One year ago, Bopha developed a cataract in her right eye, causing her sensitivity to light, blurry vision, and itchiness. She has difficulty seeing things clearly, recognizing faces, and going anywhere outside.
When Bopha learned about our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre, she traveled for an hour and a half seeking treatment. On November 8th, doctors will perform a phacoemulsification cataract surgery and an intraocular lens implant in her right eye. After recovery, she will be able to see clearly. Now, she needs help to fund this $229 procedure.
Bopha shared, “I hope I can see well again so I can work with my husband to earn extra money after harvest season ends.”
