Kim Yek is a 30-year-old accountant from Cambodia. She has two older sisters and four brothers. She likes to read books, watch movies, and do housework in her free time.
Kim Yek developed an ear infection in her left ear when she was 15 years old. The infection perforated the tympanic membrane on her left side. She experiences recurrent ear discharge, hearing loss, and tinnitus (ringing or buzzing in the ear). Kim Yek heard about our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre (CSC), from her relative. She traveled for one hour with her brother by motorbike to reach CSC for treatment.
ENT surgeons will perform a myringoplasty procedure on Kim Yek’s left ear to repair her ear drum and stop the discharge. She is scheduled to receive her surgery on May 18. Over time, her hearing can improve.
