Say is a 19-year-old student from Burma. He lives with his parents, who are farmers, and five siblings. All of the children in his family are students.
“I am interested in IT and computers. I want to be a leader in my village one day,” Say says.
Last year, Say began to experience severe headaches. The headaches worsened over time, eventually forcing him to stop attending school one month before his twelfth grade final exam. Say received medication from a local clinic to help manage his pain, but his discomfort always returned.
Say came to our medical partner’s care center, Mae Sot General Hospital, seeking a diagnosis. Doctors have recommended that he receive a CT scan in order to find out what is causing his pain. The scan is scheduled for May 4. Our medical partner, Burma Children Medical Fund, is requesting $414 to cover the cost of the procedure.

Say received a CT scan at Mae Sot Hospital, and the results indicate that no abnormalities are present. He received additional blood tests and saw an eye doctor, however doctors did not find anything that could confirm a certain diagnosis. Say was given some medications for his headache before he returned home. Hopefully the CT scan has provided Say with some sense of closure regarding what his symptoms could be linked to.
Say says, “Thank you everyone and every donor for helped paying for my CT scan cost. I wouldn’t be able to have this scan without your help. I know the doctors are tried their best to help me and I feel thankful to them too.”
