Sok is a 66-year-old man from Cambodia. He is married and has four sons, three daughters, and ten grandchildren. In his free time, he likes to go to the pagoda to listen to the monks pray and participate in ceremonies.
About two years ago, Sok developed a cataract in his right eye. This has caused him to experience blurred vision, irritation, and extreme sensitivity to light. As a result, it is difficult for him to see clearly, do any type of work, drive his motorbike, or go anywhere outside by himself.
Seeking treatment through our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre (CSC), Sok is scheduled to undergo cataract repair surgery on July 4. CSC is requesting $211 to cover the total cost of his procedure and care.
After his recovery, Sok will be able to see clearly and regain his independence.
