Chhork is an 82-year-old rice farmer from Cambodia. He has three sons, five daughters, and twenty grandchildren. His favorite thing to do is listen to the monks pray on the radio.
One year ago, Chhork developed a cataract in his right eye, causing him vision loss. He has difficulty seeing things clearly, recognizing faces, and going anywhere outside.
When Chhork learned about our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre, he traveled for four and a half hours seeking treatment. On March 17th, doctors will perform a small incision cataract surgery and an intraocular lens implant in his right eye. After recovery, he will be able to see clearly. Now, he needs help to fund this $229 procedure.
“I hope that I will be able to return to the pagoda and join in the ceremonies there,” Chhork shared.
