Chheng Ly is a five-year-old girl from Cambodia. Chheng Ly has one younger brother and she has not yet started school. Her father works at a lighthouse factory to earn a living for their family. Chheng Ly enjoys playing with her toy dolls with her friends and drinking soft drinks. When she grows up she wants to be a clerk in a company.
Chheng Ly has ptosis in left. Ptosis occurs when the eyelid droops over the eye. Chheng Ly’s mother said the condition makes her daughter feel shy and uncomfortable in public.
Chheng Ly traveled to our medical partner’s care center to receive treatment. On October 6th, surgeons at our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre (CSC), will perform an eyelid correction procedure to improve her vision. Now, Chheng Ly needs help to raise $314 to fund this procedure.
Chheng Ly’s mother said, “After surgery I hope my daughter’s eye can open and close normally and she can feel comfortable with her appearance, especially because she will be starting school soon. It is my wish that my daughter can be happy and confident for her first day of school.”
