Hai is a rice farmer from Cambodia. She has has two sons, three daughters, and eight grandkids. She likes to listen to monks pray on the radio.
Two years ago, Hai developed a cataract in her left eye, causing her blurry vision, burning, tearing, itchiness, and photophobia. She has difficulty seeing things clearly, recognizing faces, and going anywhere outside.
When Hai learned about our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre, she traveled for two hours seeking treatment. On July 24, doctors will perform a small incision cataract surgery and an intraocular lens implant in her left eye. After recovery, she will be able to see clearly. Now, she needs help to fund this $211 procedure.
She says, “I hope my eye surgery is successful so I can help my family to do some work at home and on the farm.”
