Im is a grandfather of six from Cambodia. He has one daughter, four sons, and six grandchildren. He likes to read about Buddha and listen to monks pray on the radio.
Five years ago, Im developed a cataract in his right eye, causing him blurry vision, tearing, itchiness, clouded lens, and photophobia. He has difficulty seeing things clearly, recognizing faces, and going anywhere outside.
When Im learned about our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre, he traveled for three hours seeking treatment. On June 12, doctors will perform a small incision cataract surgery and an intraocular lens implant in his right eye. After recovery, he will be able to see clearly. Now, he needs help to fund this $211 procedure.
He says, “I hope my vision is clearer after surgery so I can continue my work at the farm and return home.”
