Lorn is a 63-year-old security guard from Cambodia. He has seven children, eight grandchildren, and enjoys watching Khmer and Chinese movies in his free time.
Ten years ago, Lorn developed a cataract in his right eye, causing him irritation, photophobia, tearing, and blurry vision. He has difficulty seeing things clearly, recognizing faces, and going anywhere outside.
When Lorn learned about our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre, he traveled for two hours seeking treatment. On June 12, doctors will perform a phacoemulsification cataract surgery and an intraocular lens implant in his right eye. After recovery, he will be able to see clearly. Now, he needs help to fund this $211 procedure.
He says, “I hope that after my surgery, I will be able to see clearly and can return to work.”
