Saroeun is a fifty-year-old rice and vegetable farmer from Cambodia. After his work on the rice field, he enjoys playing with his son and going for walks around the village.
Twenty years ago, Saroeun developed nasal polyps, noncancerous growths in the lining of the nasal passage. For this reason he experiences nasal obstruction and headaches. He has difficulty breathing and smelling and has occasional bleeding.
When Saroeun learned about our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre, he traveled for five hours seeking treatment. On September 12th, doctors will perform a nasal polypectomy to remove the polyps. After recovery, he will be able to breathe more easily. Now, he needs help to fund this $267 procedure.
“I hope that after surgery, I no longer have to worry about my husband’s condition and he will be able to smell and breathe normally again.” -Saroeun’s Wife
