Mak is a 26-year-old market cleaner from Cambodia. In her free time, she likes to take care of her son, cook, watch television, and go outside with her friends.
In September 2018, Mak was in a motorcycle accident that fractured her lower right leg. She visited an emergency clinic where she was fitted with an external hardware, but later she was fixed with an internal screw plate at a different hospital. Mak still experiences difficulty walking without support and cannot fully flex her leg.
Fortunately, surgeons at our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre, can help. On October 08, Mak will undergo a hardware removal procedure, which will cost $214. This operation will help Mak walk on her own again and help to heal her fracture so she can move her leg without difficulty.
Mak said, “I hope that I will no longer have any pain, swelling, and can walk just like normal before the accident.”
