Sok is a father of nine from Cambodia. He is a rice and potato farmer. He has three daughters, six sons, and eight grandkids. He likes to watch TV and listen to monks pray on the radio.
Four years ago, Sok developed a cataract in his left eye, causing him blurred vision, tearing, itchiness, and photophobia. He has difficulty seeing things clearly, recognizing faces, and going anywhere outside.
When Sok learned about our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre, he traveled for four hours seeking treatment. On June 4, doctors will perform a small incision cataract surgery and an intraocular lens implant in his left eye. After recovery, he will be able to see clearly. Now, he needs help to fund this $211 procedure.
He says, “I hope I can see clearly again so I can learn more about Buddha and lead an independent life.”
