Ho is a 75-year-old woman from Cambodia. She is married with two daughters and seven grandchildren. She likes to listen to monks pray on the radio and go to the pagoda in her free time.
About three years ago, Ho began to develop a pterygium, a benign growth of tissue, in her left eye. Because of her eye condition, she has difficulty seeing clearly, which impacts her independence and ability to work. She has daily symptoms of blurred vision, burning, itchiness, tearing, and extreme sensitivity to light.
Ho learned about our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre (CSC), from her sister. She traveled three hours with her daughter to reach CSC. On March 27, surgeons will remove the pterygium from her left eye. After recovery, Ho will be able to see clearly again. CSC is requesting $148 to fund this procedure.
