Khryzanelle is a loving mother from Philippines. Khryzanelle, her husband and their baby live with her mother and father. Her husband works as a service staff at a local restaurant and her father works as a security guard. She spends her days mostly taking care of her two year old baby. Three years ago, Khryzanelle began to experience troubling symptoms, including severe abdominal pain. At first she thought that it was related to her pregnancy. Three months after giving birth, the pain returned and lasted for a week. She decided to seek medical attention and through ultrasound, she was diagnosed with gallstones. Khryzanelle has been advised to undergo gallbladder removal surgery, or cholecystectomy. If left untreated, her symptoms will continue to worsen and put her at risk for further health complications in the future. After seeking treatment through our medical partner, World Surgical Foundation Philippines (WSFP), Khryzanelle was able to schedule her surgery. A portion of the cost of the procedure is being supported by the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation, and WSFP is raising the remaining $1,128 to cover the cost of Khryzanelle's surgery and care. Khryzanelle shared "This free surgery will not only help me but my husband and my father. There is no way we can afford this surgery so I am very grateful for your help. Sok Noeun is a 22-year-old factory worker from Cambodia. She lives at home with her mother and four siblings in Kampong Speu province. She has one older sister and three younger brothers; her father is not in her life. Only she and her older sister have jobs, her other brothers aren't currently working. At home, she and her older sister help their mother with house cleaning and cooking. In November 2022, during a heavy rainstorm, Sok Noeun experienced an unfortunate incident when she lost control of her motorbike on her way home from work, resulting in a fractured right tibia. Her sister took her to a local clinic where she had surgery to secure the bone with metal plates and support healing. Now, the bone is united and she needs the hardware removed. Fortunately, surgeons at our medical partner, Children's Surgical Centre, can help. On February 5th, Sok Noeun will undergo a hardware removal procedure, which will cost $304. This procedure will remove the ache she still has in her leg. Sok Noeun believes that metal in the body can interfere with the flow of energy and cause health problems such as fatigue or joint pain. Sok Noeun said: "I hope after surgery I will have no pain or infection and my leg will be strong again."

Non is a 45 year-old rice farmer and father of two. He lives in Kampong Cham with his wife, son, and daughter. Both Non and his wife work in a nearby rice paddy, and farm vegetables in the off season. In his free time, he enjoys playing soccer and reading the news on his phone. Four months ago, Non was driving home from work on his motorbike, when he hit a pothole and fell off and fractured his left arm. Non has been receiving treatment from a traditional healer in his village, but his arm has not improved. He traveled three hours to Children's Surgical Centre for consultation. After examination and x-ray, Non has been diagnosed with a fracture of his left ulna and dislocation of his elbow joint. Since the accident, he has been unable to work full-time, and has chronic pain in his left arm. Fortunately, surgeons at our medical partner, Children's Surgical Centre, can help. On November 20th, Non will undergo a fracture repair procedure, which will cost $483. This procedure will eliminate pain and improve function in his arm. He shared: "I hope I can have surgery so I can use my arm again for work and my every day tasks."
