Jenifer is a farmer and a 40-year-old widow. She’s a mother of three. Two of her children are painters while the youngest one recently finished her primary level of education. Jenifer earns a living through small-scale farming. In her free time, she enjoys listening to the radio to be up to date with current affairs.
Five years ago, Jenifer began to experience troubling symptoms, including anterior neck swelling, pain on the swelling, and difficulty in breathing. She was diagnosed with multiple cystic goiter which she had tried treating using local herbs up to no avail. She needs surgery to prevent her symptoms from getting worse.
Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare, is helping Jenifer receive treatment. She is scheduled to undergo a thyroidectomy on November 12th at our medical partner’s care center. Surgeons will remove all or part of her thyroid gland. This procedure will cost $252, and she and her family need help raising money.
Jenifer says, “I am looking forward to getting better and going back to my healthy self.”
