Chhean is a 76-year-old woman living in Cambodia. She is married and has one son, five daughters, and 30 grandchildren. In her free time, she likes to listen to monks pray at the pagoda, participate in ceremonies, and watch Thai movies.
About one year ago, Chhean developed a cataract in each eye, resulting in blurred vision, tearing, pain, and itchiness. It has also become difficult for her to see things clearly or go anywhere outside alone.
Chhean is scheduled to undergo cataract repair surgery on June 23. Doctors will remove the clouded lenses and replace them with an artificial implant in each eye, restoring her clear vision. Our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre, is requesting $398 to cover the total cost of the procedure, including the cost of patient care and medical supplies.
