Winfridah is a casual laborer from Kenya. She is a single lady and has two children aged 6 and 15 years respectively. Jane does casual work of picking tea in the neighboring tea farms.
One year ago, Winfridah began to experience troubling symptoms, including headache and a painful neck swelling. She was diagnosed with a goiter, an abnormal enlargement of the thyroid gland. She needs surgery to prevent her symptoms from getting worse.
Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare Foundation, is helping Winfridah receive treatment. She is scheduled to undergo a thyroidectomy on November 21st at our medical partner’s care center. Surgeons will remove all or part of her thyroid gland. This procedure will cost $625, and she and her family need help raising money.
“I have no one to turn to and yet my children depend fully on me. Kindly support me so that I can be well again to continue taking care of them,” said Winfridah.
