Turyashangwa is a farmer from Uganda. He is a father of one. His son is self-employed and has two children. Turyashangwa cultivates food for home consumption and for sale in order to sustain himself.
For 15 years, Turyashangwa has had a bilateral reduced inguinal hernia. The condition causes him pain and discomfort. If not treated, he may suffer hernia twisting and blocking. Fortunately, on January 17, he will undergo hernia repair surgery at our medical partner’s care center.
Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare Foundation, is requesting $249 to fund Turyashangwa’s surgery. Once completed, this procedure will hopefully allow him to live more comfortably.
He says, “I have spent many years with hernia. I am unable to pay for my treatment. I need help.”

Turyashangwa’s hernia repair was a success. He is no longer at risk of strangulation of the hernia. After recovery he will be able to do any work.
“I am feeling fair and I am full of happiness. Something I never knew it would happen has happened. God is great. After recovery I will continue with farming. I extend my gratitude to all the people who have paid for my surgery. I have nothing to give in return. May the creator of heaven and earth bless the works of your hands always,” he says.
