Julieta is a 45-year-old mother of five children from the Philippines. She lives with her partner, a farmer, and contributes to the family as a full-time mother and a part-time grass cutter.
Since the birth of her eldest son 12 years ago, Julieta has been experiencing general discomfort, shortness of breath, nervousness, and difficulty eating due to a growing mass in her neck. The mass, a multinodular goiter, continues to increase its size. Without treatment, she may experience more serious symptoms in the future.
Unfortunately, the family has only limited and inconsistent income. Most of their income is used to meet the needs of Julieta’s five children. Julieta and her partner have postponed their marriage in order to save money.
Our medical partner, International Care Ministries, is requesting $489 to fund the removal of her goiter. This procedure will help improve her quality of life and relieve her of any ongoing discomfort. Julieta is scheduled to undergo surgery on January 10.
“I have been waiting for this day to arrive, and this time it will really happen,” says Julieta. “I am thankful that I was privileged to be helped. Thank you so much for this blessing.”
