Nun is a 57-year-old rice farmer from Cambodia. She has three children, two grandchildren, and enjoys watching Khmer and Thai dramas on television in her free time.
One year ago, Nun developed a cataract in her left eye, causing her blurry vision, irritation, and tearing. She has difficulty seeing things clearly, recognizing faces, and going anywhere outside.
When Nun learned about our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre, she traveled for four hours seeking treatment. On August 6, doctors will perform a phacoemulsification cataract surgery and an intraocular lens implant in her left eye. After recovery, she will be able to see clearly. Now, she needs help to fund this $211 procedure.
Her daughter says, “I hope that mom is able to see better after her operation, and will be able to recognize things and go outside on her own.”
