Sary is a 65-year-old police officer from Cambodia. He has six children, eight grandchildren, and enjoys watching Khmer music videos on television in his spare time.
Five years ago, Sary developed a cataract in his left eye, causing him blurry and cloudy vision. He has difficulty seeing things clearly, recognizing faces, and going anywhere outside.
When Sary learned about our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre, he traveled for one and a half hours seeking treatment. On October 1st, doctors will perform a phacoemulsification cataract surgery and an intraocular lens implant in his left eye. After recovery, he will be able to see clearly. Now, he needs help to fund this $211 procedure.
Sary said, “I hope that I will be able to see clearly so that I can help my wife and take care of my grandchildren.”
