Seam is a 46-year-old TukTuk driver. He has two adult sons and one school-aged daughter. In his spare time, he enjoys watching soccer on TV, and playing soccer with his friends from his village.
About two years ago, Seam developed nasal polyps, a noncancerous growths in the lining of the nasal passage. He has been experiencing obstructed breathing, headaches, and occasional nose bleeds in the last year. He has sought treatment at two other clinics, but his symptoms has not improved. It is difficult for him to breathe properly, sleep, and go about his daily activities.
When Seam learned about our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre (CSC), he traveled for one and a half hours to seek treatment. On January 18th, doctors will perform a nasal polypectomy to remove the polyps. After recovery, he will be able to breathe more easily. CSC is requesting $319 to cover the cost of this surgery.
He shared, “I really hope after surgery my nose will be better so I can breathe again, and stop my nosebleeds.”
