Martin is a 34-year-old husband and father of two young children from Kiambu, Kenya. He finds casual jobs at construction sites to support his family.
On January 8, Martin was hit by a motorbike and sustained an open fracture of a bone in his right leg. An initial surgery has not helped, so surgeons have recommended an open reduction and internal fixation procedure to set the bone and keep it in place, allowing the wound to heal. If the surgery is not done soon, Martin’s leg bone may never heal properly, leaving him disabled and increasing the risk of infection.
Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare Foundation, requests $998 for Martin’s medical care. While Martin works hard to meet the needs of his young family, the cost of the surgery is not within their means. He looks forward to getting better soon, saying, “My young family needs me and so I hope Watsi will support me so that my leg can be well and I can go back to support them.”
