Birungi is a hairdresser from Uganda. She is 46 years old.
For about six years, Birungi has been experiencing lower abdominal pain, back pain, and irregular periods. This has made her life very difficult. She has been diagnosed with multiple uterine fibroids. She needs to undergo a hysterectomy, a procedure in which surgeons will remove her uterus.
Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare Foundation, is requesting $268 to fund Birungi’s surgery. On November 28, she will undergo gynecological surgery at our medical partner’s care center. Once recovered, Birungi will be able to resume her daily activities free of pain.
Birungi says, “After surgery I will resume with my work of hair dressing.”
