Meet Asiimwe, a businesswoman, wife, and mother from Uganda. She and her husband have five children, two of whom are married. Asiimwe runs a business selling second-hand clothes, and her husband practices small-scale farming.
About nine years ago, Asiimwe began to experience swelling in the suprascapular nerve region near her right shoulder. The swelling has progressively grown in size. Currently, she cannot sleep on her right side, and the mass radiates pain throughout her neck and arms, making it difficult to work. Fortunately, Asiimwe traveled to our medical partner’s care center for treatment. On April 18th, surgeons will remove the mass. Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare (AMH), is requesting $188 to fund her procedure.
Asiimwe shared: “I am afraid that my condition will turn into cancer. I cannot do anything at home. I will be grateful to be supported and resume my business.”
