Leah is an elderly woman from Kenya. Leah was diagnosed with a left eye cataract after it matured, a few days ago. This is a clouding of the lens in the eye resulting in a blurry vision. Previously, in 2016, Leah had a right eye cataract surgery, which improved her vision. The surgery will improve her ability to see with both eyes clearly. Leah is only able to manage about $100 for the planned surgery. She is a subsistence farmer, caring for nine grandchildren and does not have sufficient income to meet all her daily needs and medical needs. . Fortunately, Leah is scheduled to undergo cataract surgery at our medical partner’s care center. Surgeons will remove and replace the blurred lens. After recovery, she will be able to see clearly. Now, she needs help to fund this $220 procedure.
