“I want to go back to work,” says Try, a 42-year-old man from Cambodia.
Try is a father of four children. He usually supports them by working as a motorbike taxi driver. However, he has not been able to work since July 2017, when he was involved in an accident with a tuk-tuk. Try was left with a compound fracture in his left leg, meaning bones were protruding from the skin. The wound site eventually became infected as well.
Try has been to multiple health centers to receive treatment for the fracture and subsequent infection. Unfortunately, however, because his broken leg could not move as it was healing, Try developed a contracture, or tightened muscle, in the area. As a result, he still cannot walk without serious pain.
In order to remedy this, Try needs to undergo tendon-lengthening surgery on December 12. However, after supporting his children throughout half a year’s worth of missed work, he cannot afford to pay for the operation.
By fundraising a total of $417, we can connect Try with the surgery he needs, as well as his lab tests, five-day hospital stay, and physical therapy.
Let’s work together to grant Try’s wish: to be able to use his leg again so that he may return to work.
