Sun is a 46-year-old factory worker from Cambodia. He is the youngest of six siblings. He currently lives with his mother and helps take care of her house. He works in a garment factory and when he has free time, he likes to go with his friends to a coffee shop to talk.
Five years ago, Sun developed a cataract in his right eye, causing him blurry vision and irritation. He has difficulty seeing things clearly, recognizing faces, and going anywhere outside.
When Sun learned about our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre, he traveled there seeking treatment. On October 19th, doctors will perform a phacoemulsification cataract surgery and an intraocular lens implant in his right eye. After recovery, he will be able to see clearly. Now, he needs help to fund this $229 procedure.
Sun said, “My housework chores and my work in the factory will all be much easier when I my eye surgery is done and I can heal. I am excited to get back home.”
