Twesigye is a farmer from Uganda. She is a mother of 11 children but has been separated from her husband for 14 years. Only three children are still in school. Twesigye practices small-scale farming to support her family.
For twenty years, Twesigye has been experiencing lower abdominal pain. She has been diagnosed with uterine fibroids. She needs to undergo a hysterectomy, a procedure in which surgeons will remove her uterus.
Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare Foundation, is requesting $208 to fund Twesigye’s surgery. On January 2, she will undergo gynecological surgery at our medical partner’s care center. Once recovered, Twesigye will be able to resume her daily activities free of pain.
Twesigye says, “I hope to continue with cultivation and care for my family after surgery.”
