Caleb is a sharp and diligent seven-year old boy. He lives with mother, grandmother, and two siblings in the Rift Valley region of Kenya. Caleb’s mother is a stay-at-home mom, and his grandmother is a primary school teacher. He is currently in school, and he is always the top of his class.
Late last year, Caleb began complaining of pain in his right groin region. His mother noticed swelling and decided to take him to Bethany Kids Kijabe Hospital, our medical partner’s care center. Physicians diagnosed Caleb with a hydrocele—a fluid-filled sac in a sensitive area. If not treated, Caleb may experience intense pain and probable decrease of blood supply to organs in this sensitive area.
Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare Foundation (AMHF), has scheduled Caleb for a hydrocelectomy, which will remove the hydrocele, on April 20. AMHF is requesting $423 to fund his surgery.
Caleb’s mother says, “We will appreciate if we get help to enhance his treatment.”
