Dieuralna is a 14-month-old infant from Haiti who lives with her mother, father, and three sisters. Dieuralna has been diagnosed with hydrocephalus, a condition where excess cerebrospinal fluid accumulates in the brain, causing increased pressure. As a result, Dieuralna has experienced an increase in head circumference. Without timely intervention, she faces severe physical and developmental delays. Our medical partner, Project Medishare, is seeking $897 to fund the surgery Dieuralna urgently needs at Hospital Bernard Mevs, the only facility in Haiti offering this care. The surgery is scheduled for September 14th and will drain the excess fluid from her brain, reducing the pressure and significantly improving her quality of life. With this treatment, Dieuralna has a hopeful future where she can grow into a strong, healthy young girl. Dieuralna's family shared, "We are hopeful and eagerly anticipating a successful surgery for her."

Lyhor is a 12-year-old student from Cambodia. She lives in Kampot province with her mother, younger brother, and grandmother. Her mother is employed at a nearby casino, while her father works in a different province and sends money home to ensure his family has food. Lyhor is currently in 5th grade and enjoys studying Khmer language. When she grows up, she wants to become a nurse, fulfilling her mother's wish. At home, she likes to eat porridge with eggs, and in her free time, she enjoys teaching her younger brother. In September 2023, Lyhor was riding on the back of a motorbike and was involved in a traffic collision. Her right leg was fractured. She underwent a fracture repair at a clinic in Kampot province, where doctors fixed hardware in her leg to heal her fracture. Her fracture is now healed, but she still feels an ache in her leg and has trouble keeping up with friends at school. Her family brought her back to the same clinic to have the hardware removed but they could not afford the procedure there. Fortunately, surgeons at our medical partner, Children's Surgical Centre, can help. On July 2nd, Lyhor will undergo a hardware removal procedure, which will help her walk more comfortably again. Lyhor's family has contributed $100 towards her medical costs but need help raising the remaining $204 to fund the procedure. Lyhor's mother said: "After the surgery, Lyhor hopes to walk normally so that she can return to school with her friends."

Rosaura, who is eight months old, lives with her mother and her grandparents in a suburb of La Paz, Bolivia. Her mother is a street vendor. Rosaura has a cardiac condition called patent ductus arteriosus, where a hole exists between two major blood vessels next to her heart. Blood leaks through this hole without passing through her lungs to obtain oxygen, leaving Rosaura weak, and making it difficult for her to gain weight. On July 10th, Rosaura will undergo cardiac surgery at Hospital del Niño Dr. Ovidio Aliaga Uría. During the procedure, surgeons will close the hole so blood can no longer leak through it. Our medical partner, International Cardiac Alliance, is seeking $1,500 to fund the costs of Rosaura's surgery and care, including exams, diagnostics, surgery, follow-up care, and medications. Rosaura's mother said: "I am very hopeful that everything will go well with this surgery, so that my daughter can be normal and strong."
