Minose has three children and lives in a small village in northern Haiti. She works as a street vendor selling soft drinks and other beverages and has to lift and carry a heavy cooler loaded with ice and drinks every day. She earns enough to provide the basic needs for her family, but health care is a luxury that Minose cannot afford.
Minose has suffered from a hernia for many years (a weakening of the abdominal wall through which the abdominal contents protrudes). So far the hernia has not caused her any serious problems but if left untreated her condition may deteriorate and complications down the track could leave Minose unable to care for her young family.
For just $400 Minose can have the surgery she needs to repair the abdominal wall and fix the hernia. This surgery will ensure can continue to work and provide for her family.
