Kehoda is a small-scale farmer from Uganda. She is married with three children.
Eight years ago, Kehoda began to experience troubling symptoms, including a slow-growing neck mass. This caused disfigurement, pain, and difficulty breathing and swallowing. She was diagnosed with a multinodular goiter. She needs surgery to prevent her symptoms from getting worse.
Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare Foundation, is helping Kehoda receive treatment. She is scheduled to undergo a thyroidectomy on January 4 at our medical partner’s care center. Surgeons will remove all or part of her thyroid gland. This procedure will cost $240, and she and her family need help raising money.
Kehoda says, “I hope to continue with farming after surgery to cater for my family.”
