Sam Art is a 63-year-old rice farmer from Cambodia. He has been proudly married for 33 years to his wife, who is also a rice farmer. They have one daughter who is 30 years old and who has two children of her own. In his free time, Sam Art enjoys exercising, visiting the pagoda, doing house work, listening to dharma, and taking care of his grandchildren.
Three years ago, Sam Art fractured his right tibia in an accident. A local hospital put a nail in his tibia to heal the fracture. The tibia is now healed, and the nail needs to be removed so that he is fully healed and doesn’t risk infection.
Fortunately, surgeons at our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre, can help. On December 2nd, Sam Art will undergo a hardware removal procedure, which will cost $230. This will prevent future complications, such as pain and infection in his leg from the hardware.
Sam Art shared, “My family is worried about my walking getting worse if the nail is not removed. I hope to be healthy and recover quickly after this operation.”
