Rossette is a 35-year-old housewife from Uganda. Her husband works in a retail shop and supports his wife as she has not been able to find a job. During her free time, Rossette enjoys visiting her friends. Rossette is currently expecting her first child. She received antenatal care at Rushoroza Hospital, where her doctors recommended that she deliver via a Cesarean section because of breech presentation at term. This way, doctors can ensure the safety of both mother and child. Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare, is helping Rossette undergo a C-Section on March 1st. This procedure will cost $214 and Rossette needs your support. Rosette says, “I hope I will have a successful surgery with a positive outcome. After complete recovery, I will continue to search for a job. May God bless you.”

Brenda, who is 24 years old, lives in Uganda with her husband and niece. While she once worked at a local brewery, she now does small scale farming, which provides food for the table, but no income. Her husband is a contractor, who also has a grocery store. Brenda is currently expecting a new baby. Her first pregnancy did not produce a live birth, and because she delivered via a Caesarean section the first time, her doctors are strongly recommending another C-section for the upcoming birth, to ensure the safety of both Brenda and the baby. Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare, is helping Brenda undergo a C-section on December 12th, at Uganda Martyr's Ibanda Hospital. This procedure will cost $207, and Brenda needs your support. Brenda says: "I have high hopes that my surgery will be successful and I will be able to have a live baby and get rid of the scar pain. This time after the surgery, I will have enough rest and later resume my daily activities. My second plan is to join an institution and get skills in hairdressing.’’

Moriya is a 3-year-old toddler from Cambodia. She lives in Prey Veng province with her parents, grandmother, and 8-year-old brother. Both her mom and dad work in nearby clothing factories. Moriya's grandmother helps look after the children while her parents are at work. At home, Moriya likes running around the village with other kids, and eating fried noodles. On September 13, 2023, Moriya accidentally burned her left hand at home. Burn scar contractures have developed, tightening the skin around her burn. It is difficult for her to use her left hand due to the contractures, including playing with toys and carrying objects. When Moriya's family learned about our medical partner, Children's Surgical Centre, they traveled for three and a half hours seeking treatment. On February 6th, surgeons at CSC will perform a burn contracture release surgery to improve her hand function. She and her family need help to fund this $495 procedure. Her dad shared "I want her fingers to straighten out, so that I won't worry about her development and her future."
