Bunthoeun is an unemployed 34-year-old father of two from Cambodia. He lives with his parents, wife, and two daughers aged two years and ten years in Takéo Province. His wife sells snacks at a nearby high school, and his parents watch the children when they are home. Before the accident, Bunthoeun worked as a sales assistant at a motorbike shop. He also enjoys raising chickens around the house, a favorite hobby. In October 2023, Bunthoeun was in a motorbike accident and suffered right shoulder trauma. Following the accident, he received medical care at a hospital in Phnom Pen, but is presently unable to use his right arm. He has been diagnosed with a brachial plexus injury on his right side. The brachial plexus is a nerve network that transmits signals from the spine to the shoulder, arm, and hand. Injuries to this nerve network can result in loss of function and sensation. He experiences pain and is unable to lift his hand or shoulder, and he cannot work. Bunthoeun traveled to Kien Khleang National Rehabilitation Centre to receive treatment. This is the only center in the whole country where this treatment is available. On June 18th, he will undergo a brachial plexus repair surgery. After recovery, he hopes to use his arm again. Bunthoeun is able to contribute $100 towards his medical care, but needs help raising the remaining $609 for the procedure. Bunthoeun says: "After recovery, I hope I can use my arm again and find a job to help support my family."

Shwe is a 55-year-old father of two from Thailand. He lives with his wife and two daughters. He and his wife work on a farm and their daughters attend school. In his free time, Shwe enjoys reading the Bible. Since 2013, Shwe has been suffering from intense back pain. A CT scan revealed that he has bilateral renal stones. In February 2024, he underwent surgery to remove the stone in his left kidney. However, physicians at our medical partner's care center, Maharaj Nakron Chiang Mai Hospital, determined that Shwe should undergo percutaneous nephrolithotomy, a procedure that removes kidney stones from the body when they cannot pass on their own. Our medical partner, Burma Children Medical Fund, is requesting $1,500 to fund this procedure. The treatment is scheduled to take place on September 16th and, once completed, it will hopefully improve Shwe's quality of life. Shwe said, “I feel very happy and thankful to Watsi for supporting my treatment. Without your help, I wouldn’t have been able to receive the necessary medical care. Once I fully recover, I plan to find a job and save money to support my family.”

Soe is a 14-year-old from Thailand. He lives with his father and two brothers. His older brother is unemployed and his younger brother is a student. Soe and his father are construction workers. In his free time, Soe likes to go to the mosque and pray. Less than two weeks ago, Soe was working at a construction site when he accidentally touched a live wire with his left hand. As a result of the electric shock, he fell from the third floor, breaking his left leg and right arm, and sustaining significant burn injuries to his chest and left hand. Soe has been experiencing pain, swelling, and inflammation in his left hand. His doctors have recommended an amputation of his left arm below his elbow, to prevent the symptoms from getting worse. Our medical partner, Burma Children Medical Fund, is helping Soe receive treatment. On August 8th, Soe will undergo surgery at Mae Sot General Hospital, hopefully putting him on the path to recovery. Now, Soe's family needs help to fund this $1,500 procedure. "I just want my son to recover", says Soe's father.
