Felista is a 31-year-old mother of three from Kenya. All of her children are still in school. She helps her husband sell secondhand clothes at an open-air market.
Since 2015, she has been having uncomfortable gynecological symptoms. She has been diagnosed with adenomyosis, a condition in which the uterine lining grows abnormally, and advised to have a total abdominal hysterectomy. The condition is making it difficult for her work and to socialize with family and friends. If not treated, Felista may experience serious complications.
Felista will undergo surgery on August 11, and she and her family are now seeking financial assistance to cover her $718 treatment costs.
“I have been visiting the hospital for so long and the bleeding is becoming unbearable,” explains Felista. “I pray for support so that I can go back and assist my husband to work and sustain our family.”
