Veasna has two brothers and three sisters. He likes to look at books of different hairstyles and haircuts and watch TV in his free time.
Veasna started experiencing back pain a couple years ago. Veasna also experiences left knee pain and right hip pain, making it difficult to walk. He was diagnosed with ankylosing spondylitis (a form of arthritis that primarily affects the spine, although other joints can become involved) as well as arthritis of the hip and knee.
Surgeons will perform a total hip replacement surgery on Veasna’s left side to relieve him of pain and help him walk easily again. Surgery is scheduled for June 14, and he needs help raising $781 to fund his care.

Veasna underwent a hip replacement.
Veasna’s treatment for his left hip went well. Surgeons at CSC decided to perform a hemiarthroplasty procedure instead of a total hip replacement because only the femoral head needed to be removed. Following the procedure, he was given pain medication and he had one week of physiotherapy at CSC before being discharged. His wounds have healed nicely and he does not experience any pain. Veasna is now able to walk more easily than before.
Veasna says, “I’m happy with the surgery. I don’t feel pain and I can walk better. Thanks to the staff for helping me. I will go back to my farm to work again.”
