Pichet is a 32-year-old rice farmer from Cambodia. He and his wife have been married for 10 years and have two young sons who are both in grade school. His wife works alongside him on the farm. During the offseason, Pichet also does work in construction. When he has downtime, he loves to cook, watch movies with his kids, and help them with their school work.
In 2016, Pichet was in a accident during construction work in Thailand, causing a fracture of his right femur. He immediately went to a hospital there and had a plate and screws installed. The fracture healed well, and there were no complications, but the remaining plate and screws still cause him pain.
Fortunately, surgeons at our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre, can help. On September 24th, Pichet will undergo a hardware removal procedure, which will cost $230. After this procedure he will no longer deal with any pain or possible complications that could arise with the hardware in his leg.
Pichet said, “I am glad I had no problems in healing my leg until this point. I hope that after surgery I can live without any more worry about my leg.”
