Oeu is a retired rice farmer. He is married and has two sons, two daughters, and 10 grandchildren. Oeu lives with his wife near all of their children who are also farmers. Oeu likes to go to the pagoda with his wife to join in the ceremonies.
One year ago, Oeu developed a cataract in his right eye, causing him blurry vision and photophobia. He has difficulty seeing things clearly, which affects his daily activities.
When Oeu learned about our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre, he traveled for three and a half hours seeking treatment. On May 6th, doctors will perform a small incision cataract surgery and an intraocular lens implant in his right eye. After recovery, he will be able to see clearly. Now, he needs help to fund this $253 procedure.
Oeu says, “I hope after surgery my eye can see clearly. I would like to easily recognize my family’s faces and get around better with my wife.”
