When Sokna was born, her parents noticed that she slept with her mouth open, snored, and had trouble breathing. As Sokna grew up, her breathing problems stayed with her. Soon, she developed hearing problems as well.
Sokna was diagnosed with hypertrophy of her adenoid, a dangerous enlargement of the tissue between her nose and throat that can completely block breathing if left untreated. She needs a $250 surgery to remove her adenoids and tonsills. This will reduce the inflammation in her ear and nose and enable her to enjoy a normal life again.

Sokna received surgery to treat her enlarged adenoid and tonsils.
