Heng is a 71-year-old grandmother of six from Cambodia. She has four children and six grandchildren. She enjoys walking to the local pagoda and praying with the monks.
Five years ago, Heng developed a cataract in each eye, causing her watery eyes and lack of recognition of faces. She has difficulty seeing things clearly, recognizing faces, and going anywhere outside.
When Heng learned about our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre, she traveled for half an hour seeking treatment. On February 5, doctors will perform phacoemulsification and an intraocular lens implant in each eye. After recovery, she will be able to see clearly. Now, she needs help to fund this $398 procedure.
She says, “I want get better so I can go the pagoda and help my daughter to take care of her children.”
